These terms are an agreement between you and Marquise Works LLC, 5900 Balcones Drive, STE 100, Austin, TX 78731 ("we", "us"), the company behind Lootsy. By creating an account or using Lootsy, you agree to them. Section 12 contains an arbitration agreement and class-action waiver that affect how disputes are resolved. Please read it.
Lootsy is a family chore-and-reward app. Parents create the account, set up quests and rewards, and approve all activity. Diamonds are a points system for fun: they are not money, have no cash value, and can't be transferred, sold or exchanged outside the app. Lootsy is offered in the United States.
You must be 18 or older and the parent or legal guardian of every child you add. You agree on your children's behalf to these terms and are responsible for how they use Lootsy. Keep your password, Parent PIN and family code private: anyone with your family code or an invite link can connect a device to your family. Tell us right away at hello@lootsy.app if you think your account was misused.
Quest ideas, including age suggestions and AI-generated ideas, are only ideas. You decide whether a task is safe and suitable for your child (for example anything involving cooking, tools, chemicals, water, pets or lawn equipment) and supervise as needed. We aren't responsible for injury or damage that happens while doing a chore or habit.
Rewards are an arrangement between you and your child. For physical prizes, any purchase is between you and the retailer you choose; we don't sell, ship or guarantee products. Some store links are affiliate links, so we may earn a commission when you buy, at no extra cost to you. Prices and availability are set by the retailer.
Lootsy Plus is an auto-renewing subscription, billed monthly or yearly through your Apple ID. Payment is charged when you confirm the purchase, and the subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel anytime in your Apple ID subscription settings; Plus stays active until the end of the period you've paid for. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. If we change the price, we'll tell you in advance and the new price applies from your next renewal. Cancelling never deletes your kids, quests or history; you just can't add more than the free plan allows.
Each family can start one 14-day free trial of Lootsy Plus from the app, with no payment details required. When it ends, your family moves to the free plan automatically; nothing is charged and nothing is deleted.
"Unlimited" kids and quests on Lootsy Plus means unlimited for one household: the parents or guardians and the children who live with them. A subscription may not be shared between separate families or used to pool several families' children into one account. We apply generous technical limits no typical household reaches (currently 8 kid profiles and 100 quests per kid). If your household genuinely needs more, email hello@lootsy.app and we'll help. We may limit accounts that appear to be shared across households.
You keep ownership of what you add (custom quests, rewards, notes). You give us permission to store and display it to run Lootsy for your family. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without owing you anything. Don't misuse Lootsy: no trying to access other families' data, disrupting the service, reverse engineering it beyond what the law allows, or using it for anything unlawful. Lootsy, its characters (including Louie), artwork and software belong to us or our licensors.
You can delete your account anytime in Parent mode → Settings. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, and we may change, add or remove features. If we discontinue Lootsy, we'll give reasonable notice where we can. We may update these terms; for important changes we'll tell you in the app or by email before they take effect, and continuing to use Lootsy afterwards means you accept them.
Lootsy is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and we don't promise that Lootsy will be uninterrupted, error-free or always available.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to Lootsy is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you. You agree to cover our reasonable costs and liabilities from claims caused by your misuse of Lootsy or your breach of these terms.
Talk to us first. Before filing a claim, email hello@lootsy.app with your name, the issue and what you're asking for, and give us 60 days to try to resolve it informally.
Arbitration. If we can't resolve it, you and we agree that any dispute relating to Lootsy or these terms will be settled by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, instead of in court. For claims under $10,000 we'll pay the AAA filing, administration and arbitrator fees unless the arbitrator finds the claim frivolous. Arbitration may be held by video or phone, or in Travis County, Texas, or the county where you live.
Exceptions. Either of us may bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies, and either of us may go to court to protect intellectual property.
Class-action waiver: you and we may bring claims only individually, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective or representative action, and the arbitrator may not combine claims of more than one person.
30-day opt-out. You can opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing hello@lootsy.app within 30 days of creating your account, with your name, account email and a clear statement that you opt out. Opting out doesn't affect anything else in these terms.
If the class-action waiver is found unenforceable for a claim, that claim (and only that claim) will go to court instead of arbitration.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas and the Federal Arbitration Act, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to section 12, any court case will be heard in the state or federal courts in Travis County, Texas, and both of us agree to that venue.
If you got Lootsy from Apple's App Store: these terms are between you and us, not Apple, and we (not Apple) are responsible for Lootsy and its content. Your license is to use Lootsy on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by the App Store's Usage Rules. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support. If Lootsy fails to meet a warranty that applies, you may notify Apple for a refund of the purchase price (if any); otherwise Apple has no warranty obligation. Apple isn't responsible for any claims about Lootsy (including product liability, legal compliance, consumer protection, privacy or intellectual property claims); we are, to the extent these terms require. You confirm you're not in a country under a US embargo or on a US government restricted-party list. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
These terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about Lootsy. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a part right away, we haven't given up the right to later. You can't transfer these terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a merger or sale of our business.
